Buying a home in Greenwood

Greenwood is home to the largest air base in Atlantic Canada, so most of the housing in the centre of town is occupied by military personnel and their families. But there’s a variety of other housing located on the outskirts of town or in the nearby community of Kingston. Most homes are single-family detached houses in a variety of styles and at price points to suit most budgets. Many of the popular subdivisions are a short walk or drive to all of the town’s amenities, including schools, restaurants and the largest shopping mall in the Annapolis Valley. 

Living in Greenwood

Greenwood is located in the middle of the Annapolis Valley about 150 km west of Halifax off Highway 101. With Canadian Forces Base Greenwood located here, the town has a strong connection to the base. For instance, the community recreation centre on the base is open to the public, offering sports facilities, a fitness centre, and indoor and outdoor pools. The town of about 5,400 people is also home to a golf course and numerous parks and trails, which makes it easy to enjoy outdoor activities.
