Driving Hope: How the REMAX NOVA Community Raised $50,000 for the IWK

At REMAX NOVA, real estate isn’t just about houses—it’s about people, lasting relationships, and giving back to the vibrant communities we call home.

On June 22nd, our community came together on the greens for our 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament in support of the IWK Children’s Hospital. We set an ambitious goal this year, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we are thrilled to announce that we raised $50,000! Every dollar of these funds will go directly toward the construction of the IWK’s new Emergency Department.

A Perfect Day on the Greens

Held at the scenic Hartlen Point Forces Golf Club, the energy throughout the day was nothing short of amazing. The afternoon brought together 32 enthusiastic teams for a fun-filled round of golf beneath beautiful, sunny skies.

Between sponsored holes, lively course contests, and plenty of prizes, there was never a dull moment. Players were treated to custom swag bags, a delicious lunch, and a stellar steak dinner to cap off the day. While our exciting charity auction moved online this year, the evening program was kept high-energy and unforgettable thanks to the incredible Frankie Hollywood from FX101.9, who served as our emcee.

A massive congratulations to this year's tournament champions! Your team's names will be proudly engraved on the tournament trophy to display for years to come.

A Spotlight on a True Champion: Canon Beazley

One of the most inspiring highlights of this year’s tournament was our collaboration with Canon Beazley, the 2024 Children’s Miracle Network Champion.

At just 15 years old, Canon is already a local philanthropic powerhouse. He has raised over $64,000 for the IWK through his family’s famous House of Doom Halloween fundraiser (fun fact: decorating for the 2025 House of Doom has already begun, so mark your calendars for this October!).

Canon is also a champion for our brokerage, too. He took to the airwaves with radio ads, spread the word across the community, and helped rally the crucial support that drove our event's success. We are deeply proud to have Canon as part of our extended REMAX NOVA family.

An event of this scale requires a village. We are profoundly grateful to be part of a brokerage that champions community impact so heavily.

Why the IWK Matters to Us

At the heart of all this teamwork is a cause that hits incredibly close to home. The IWK holds a deeply personal place in my own heart—my children were born there and received world-class care within its walls. Like so many families in our community, we have seen firsthand the profound impact of the hospital's dedication and medical expertise. Leading an initiative that directly funds the new Emergency Department is an honor beyond words.
